Ralph Lauren became the first American designer with a European boutique 1981 and opened his London flagship in 1999. The architecture was inspired by the luxurious ocean liners of the 1920s. Although not as large as its Tokyo, New York, or Moscow stores, it possess opulent decor featuring a white marble fireplace, a drop beaded crystal chandelier, mahogany walls, and ship-style view of the floor below.
